Brenna Nelson Therapy offers a limited number of reduced-cost/ sliding scale appointments based on availability. If cost is a barrier to accessing therapy, please reach out to discuss your options. I believe therapy should be as accessible as possible and will do my best to help you find a solution that fits your needs.

No, I do not accept insurance. All sessions are private pay. Private pay allows for a more personalized and confidential therapy experience. Rather than meeting insurance requirements, such as assigning a mental health diagnosis or following specific treatment guidelines, we have the flexibility to create a therapy experience that is centered on your individual needs, goals, and progress. As an out-of-network provider, I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Please check with your insurance provider to confirm coverage.

Payment is due on the day of your scheduled appointment. I accept all major credit cards.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please provide at least 24 hours' notice. Late cancellations and no shows will be charged the full session fee.

If you're ready to begin therapy in person in Frisco or virtually anywhere in Texas, you can easily schedule your first appointment online. Simply click on the button below to view my current availability, request an appointment, and complete your intake paperwork. If you'd like to connect before scheduling or have questions about the therapy process, you're welcome to schedule a 15 minute consultation by clicking the button below or you can reach out through the contact form. I'm happy to connect, answer your questions, and see if we're a good fit.

Every therapy session is different because every person is different. There is no "one-size-fits-all" approach to healing, so I tailor each session to your unique needs, goals, and meet you wherever you're at that day.

Traditional talk therapy can be incredibly helpful, and there are certainly times when having a space to process your thoughts and experiences is exactly what's needed. However, for many individuals, couples, and families who have experienced trauma, talking alone isn't always enough. Trauma is often stored in the body and nervous system, which means healing may require more than just understanding it intellectually.

Some sessions may focus on exploring patterns, understanding your brain and nervous system, or building practical coping skills. Other sessions might be about celebrating wins, processing a difficult week, or even sharing laughter together because healing also happens through moments of connection and joy.

Other times, we may slow down and turn inward through mindfulness, guided imagery, meditation, or other somatic approaches. We may explore different parts of yourself, engage in inner child work or reparenting, and approach difficult emotions and experiences with compassion and curiosity. When appropriate, we can also incorporate EMDR, an evidence-based therapy that uses bilateral stimulation to help the brain process and integrate distressing memories so they no longer feel as overwhelming in the present.

My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and empowered. Together, we'll use the approaches that best fit your needs, allowing therapy to evolve as you do.
